When it comes to baby supplies, there are items which make your life easier, there are items which are nice to have and then there are some items which are absolute essentials. And diapers without a question fall into the third category.

They are something that your baby needs every single day and needs them in plenty!

As a parent, choosing the right diaper for your little one is crucial for their comfort, health, and overall well-being. While there are many well-known diaper brands on the market, there are also some lesser-known gems that deserve recognition.

While one may be familiar with lots of well known and popular diaper brands like Huggies, Pampers, Mamy Poko Pants etc. available in our country, there are many new and cool brands that have come up in the recent years who are offering some amazing products.

But before we get into the brands and the diapers that you can shop from them, let’s discuss the different types of baby diapers available in the market today. It is important to know which kind would suit your lifestyle and your baby’s needs better.

Cloth diapers

Cloth diapers are great for babies as they are more breathable and softer than disposable ones. These are eco-friendly and very cost saving in the long run as they can be reused time and again. Also most come with adjustable sizing options which means the diaper can expand to fit your growing baby upto a certain age. The only thing you’ll have to take care of is the little bit of extra laundry that comes with using cloth diapers. But it’s a small price to pay for saving the environment.

Disposable diapers

These are the most common and easy to use diapers out there. Once you know the correct size to use for your baby, you are all set as these will fit well and are pretty much leakproof. There are many kinds of disposable diapers available today - ones with fragrance, some have wetness indicators while others have pocketed waistbands etc. These are super convenient to use while travelling especially. The major disadvantages of these disposable diapers is that they are single-use products which fill up landfills and they also cost you a lot in the long run as you would need to buy a LOT of these.

Organic diapers

If cloth diapers are too much work for you and using regular disposable diapers don’t make you feel good with the environmental damage that they do, then organic and biodegradable diapers is what you should go for. These are made with eco-friendly materials like bamboo, wood pulp etc. However, you must note that these kinds of diapers are more expensive than your regular disposable diapers. Also, no organic diaper brand is 100 percent organic. But even then, these are still a great option if you want convenience while still caring for the Earth.

Now that you have all the information you need on the different kinds of diapers, let’s talk about some awesome brands that we’ve come across lately.

Superbottoms

Founded in 2015, Superbottoms specialize in reusable cloth diapers for babies and toddlers. They also have padded underwear, dry feel langots, swaddles, top & shorts sets, travel accessories and more. But their signature product is the Superbottoms UNO. This cloth diaper is made from 100% organic cotton (GOTS certified), has a waterproof outer layer, comes with buttons for adjusting the size and has dry feel pads plus booster pads for boosting absorbency. This amazing product also comes with a free trial policy (30 days for Freesize UNO, 15 days for Newborn UNO). Yes, you can use it and if you aren't satisfied with the product, you can return it back within the stipulated time period and get a refund!

Bhoomi & Co

Looking for 100% biodegradable diapers? Then look no further as Bhoomi & Co has you sorted. Founded by Pooja Reddy in 2018, they specialise in diapers which are safe both for the baby as well as the environment. Made from Bamboo plant cellulose & super absorbent material, these diapers can keep your baby’s bottom dry up to 8-10 hours. They also have a wetness indicator which will help you know when it is time to change the diaper. These are also free from chemicals and allergens thereby preventing rashes.

Mamaearth

Skincare brand Mamaearth has also come up with their range of baby products. And lucky for us as they also have plant based diapers in the offering. These diapers are made of breathable corn starch material which provide upto 2 times more absorption than regular diapers and are free from latex, lotion, fragrance and chlorine bleaching. What more could one ask for?

Bambo Nature

Danish brand Bambo Nature has been in the business of making diapers for over 40 years. Their diapers were also the first in the world to earn the esteemed Nordic Swan Ecolabel certifications. They have a whole range of products ranging from baby diapers to pants, wipes and even skincare products. We especially love the fact that their diapers are eco-friendly, soft, breathable, ultra-absorbent and free from chemicals. What’s even better is that they also have diapers for premature babies (size XXS) which is hard to come by in other brands.

Bumberry

Started in 2013, Bumberry is a CPSIA, USA certified brand known for its superior quality cloth diapers. Their diapers are made with eco-friendly materials and each product is meticulously stitched to ensure a perfect fit. Not just that, all the dyes used to make the fun prints on their products are safe for your baby’s skin. And the best part about using these diapers is that not only will you be kinder to the environment but you will also be saving a lot of money in the long run as these reusable diapers are free size and can fit your baby through 0-3 years!
