When we think of Amla, the first thing that comes to mind is that sweet Amla ka Murabba. It’s a staple at many homes considering the fact that the nutritional value of Amla has no comparison. But this time we got you a savoury version of Amla in the form of a pickle! It’s very easy, requires minimum ingredients and is super tasty. Especially kids who give a hard time in eating that murabba could get quite happy with this Amla pickle recipe if they are pickle lovers! So, we bring forth easy, quick and super nutritious Amle Ka Achaar!

Preparation Time: 20 Minutes

Cooking Time: 5 Minutes

Ingredients

Amla (Gooseberries)- ½ Kilogram

Sarson Ka Tel (Mustard Oil)- 200 ml

Salt- 1 ½ Tablespoon

Fennel Seeds (Saunf) (Powdered)- 1 Tablespoon

Fenugreek Powder (Methi Powder)- 1 Tablespoon

Red Chilli Powder 1 ½ Tablespoon

Turmeric Powder (Haldi)- 1 ½ Tablespoon

Nigella Seeds (Kalonji)- 1 Teaspoon

Black Salt- 1 Teaspoon

Recipe

  1. Cut each Amla into pieces and remove the seed.
  2. Heat oil on a medium flame for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Put off the flame and add all the spices.
  4. Stir well.
  5. Now add the Amla pieces, mix well.
  6. Pour in a jar when cool.

 

A friendly Tip: If you like your pickle spicy, you can easily add upto 2 Tablespoon of Red Chilli Powder instead of 1 ½ Tablespoon.

Best Homemade Amla Pickle

Your pickle is ready! You can eat it after 2 days so that the Amla pieces absorb all the flavours of the spices. If you would like to store the pickle for a longer duration like upto an year, cover your pickle well with a layer of mustard oil.
