Who doesn’t love a good lipstick? One swipe on your lips and it can instantly brighten up your face! And since this one product can be used for any occasion, any kind of look and is loved by one & all, it is very easy to buy more lipsticks than one needs and hoard a whole stash of them.

But fret not if you too are guilty of having too many lipsticks and are worried that you may not end up using all the product in those tubes. We have found a few cool ways to use your lipsticks other than on your lips. This way you’ll not need to buy more products and can efficiently utilise what you have, minus the guilt! Multipurpose makeup is the way forward and we are here for it.

Use it as a cream blush

This one is a no-brainer as it reminds us of the days when we were young and how our mothers would add some lipstick on our cheeks as a blush to get us ready for that annual day function or a fancy dress competition. Learn from your moms and apply some lipstick on your cheeks for a flushed look. All you’ll have to ensure is that you place the product in the right place and blend it out well. You can either use a brush or simply use your fingers to blend it out. Using a creamy lipstick rather than a matte one will work better for this hack.

Eyes, eyes, baby!

There are a couple of ways in which you can use your lipsticks while doing your eye makeup. The first way is to use it as an eyeshadow. Apply any colour of your choice depending on the look that you are going for and blend it out. The lovely wash of colour will give you a very high-fashion look, the kind supermodels sport during fashion weeks.

The other way of using lipsticks on your lids is as an eyeliner. Yes, you heard us right! Coloured liners are all the rage right now and you can put your liquid lipsticks to good use for this hack. Just take some liquid lipstick on an angled brush and line your upper lash line. And voila! You have a coloured eyeliner without really buying any coloured eyeliner.

Use it as a colour corrector

Fed up of your dark circles that don’t get concealed easily with a concealer and you end up with a greyish cast under your eyes? And are you looking to buy a colour corrector to fix this? Well, we would recommend you go through your lipstick stash before doing so because you can use an appropriate colour of lipstick as a colour corrector.

If you are wheatish or have a fairer complexion, you can use a peachy lipstick as a colour corrector. If you have a deeper complexion, you can go for an orange, rust or even a red lipstick to colour correct your under eye area. The key here is to choose the correct shade of lipstick to cancel out the darkness under your eyes and any dark spots on your skin. Once you’ve applied the lipstick and set the product, you can go over with your foundation and concealer for a nice and even base.

Use it to contour your face

You can get that chiseled and contoured look with brown lipstick. Just put some lipstick in the hollows of your cheek and in your jawline and a tiny amount near the hairline of your forehead. Blend it out evenly to get that wonderful defined look on your face. You can even contour your nose using this technique. With this hack under your belt, we’re sure you wouldn’t go shopping for those contour sticks which do the same thing.

It’s time for that highlight

Do you have a frosty light coloured lipstick in your dresser that isn’t used as much as it could be? Then we have got just the right use for it. You can use it as a highlighter stick and add some glow to your face. Apply it on your cheekbones, under the arch of your eyebrow, on the bridge of your nose and on your cupid’s bow to get a fresh & glowy look.

Make art not war

If all else fails and you have a bunch of lipsticks that have gone past their expiration date, then please don’t put them anywhere on your face. And don’t toss them out in the bin either. They can be used to create your next masterpiece. Whether you use them directly on the canvas or melt them first & then dip your brush to paint something cool, lipsticks can be super fun to make art with. Try it out and you’ll know what we are talking about!
