Hi ladies!
After waiting for nearly an year, the Tokyo Olympics are finally here! Wow! That rhymes ðŸ˜ƒ!! Today marks the beginning of the greatest sport event!

Some of us have been quite active in sports at some point of our life while some of us enjoy watching them while cheering for our country. But one thing common is the sheer excitement and also this time we have so many amazing athletes in the Indian contingent. So, here we can discuss all about the athletes you are cheering on or maybe which event do you love the most? 

Also, we will keep on updating the progress of our wonderful female athletes in the games!
 
So! Cheers to our amazing Indian Team. Let's hope lots of medals come home!!!

Early morning 5:30 AM IST marked the Archery Women's Individual Ranking Round, and Archer Deepika Kumari has finished 9th in it with 663 points! She will face Bhutan's Karma in pre-quarterfinals on 28th July 2021.

Yesterday Swimmer, Maana Patel finished 2nd in Heat 1 of Women's 100m Backstroke but failed to reach the semi-final.

Morning Update for July 26
Fencing: Bhavani Devi, the first fencer from the country to qualify for Olympics, won against Tunisia's Nadia Ben Azizi, 15-3 in Sabre Individual Table of 64 but was knocked out by France's Manon Brunet 7-15 in the Sabre Individual Table of 32.
Table Tennis: Sutirtha Mukherjee lost to Portugal's Fu Yu in the women's singles event 0-4.

Yesterday India's women Hockey Team lost to Netherlands in Pool A with 1-5. They will now face Germany tomorrow.

Coming back to todays' events,

Pranati Nayak finished 29th rank overall in Women's Artistic Gymnastics All Round at the end of Subdivision 2, but she couldn't qualify for All Round Finals.
Badminton: P.V. Sindhu won the match 21-7, 21-10 against K. Polikarpova of Israel in Women's Singles Group Play stage- Group J.
Tennis: Sania Mirza and Ankita Raina lost to L. Kichenok and N. Kichenok of Ukraine in Women's Doubles First Round.
Sailing: The first Indian Female Sailor to qualify for Olympics, Nethra Kumanan finsished 33rd in Race 1 an 16th in Race 2. She will now be seen in action in Race 3 and Race 4 tomorrow.

Today's events update apart from Shooting 10 M Air Rifle and Weightlifting:
Archery (Mixed Team): Deepika Kumari and Praveen Jadhav lost to the Republic of Korea Team in Quarter Finals.

Judo Women 48 Kg Elimination Round of 32: Shushila Devi lost to Hungary's opponent.

Table Tennis (Women's Singles Round 1): Manika Batra defeated Tin-Tin Ho of Great Britain with a 4-0 win!
Sutirtha Mukherjee won against Sweden's Linda Bergstorm with a 4-3 win.

Hockey (Women's Pool A) Match- India vs. Netherlands is in progress!!!!!

Not much good news as Manu Bhaker and Yashaswini Deswal both didn't qualify for 10 m Air Pistol Shooting Final!

Pranari Nayak is in action in the Women's Qualification (Subdivision 1) in Artistic Gymnastics!!!!

And it's a super good news! Its a SILVER Medal!!!!!!!!!!!
First Medal for India by our very own Woman Weightlifter in 49 Kg Weightlifting- Chanu Saikhom Mirabai with a total of 202 Kg with 87 Kg in Snatch and 115 Kg in Clean and Jerk.

Super Proud of our super woman!!!

After yesterday's disappointing loss against Germany in Women's Hockey with 0-2, today marked a promising beginning with Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary topping the Qualification Stage 1 of 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Event.
But while the pair of Yashaswini Deswal and Abhishek Dhakar couldn't qualify for Stage 2 even the pair of Manu-Saurabh finished 7th at the Qualification Stage 2  and couldn't qualify for the medal rounds.

Mixed News today early morning- 
Apurvi Chandela and Elavenil Valarivan fail to qualify for finals of Women's 10m Air Rifle.
But India's mixed team archery pair of Deepika Kumari and Pravin Jadhav beat the Chinese Taipei pair 5-3 in the 1/8 Eliminator. They will now be seen in the quarter-finals.

Looking forward to some really amazing events today.

Table Tennis: Manika Batra loses to Austria's Sofia Polcanova, 4-0 in Women's Singles Round 3 Table Tennis match.

Sailing. Nethra Kumanan finished 15th in Women's One Person Dinghy- Laser Radial Race 3 and 40th in Race 4 dropping down to 28th place in overall laser radial standings with a net total of 64. She will compete in Race 5 and Race 6 tomorrow.

Sailing: Nethra Kumanan finished 32nd in Race 5 and 38th in Race 6 in Women's One Person Dinghy- Laser Radial.
Shooting: Both the pairs of Elavenil Valarivan- Divyansh Singh Panwar and Anjum Moudgil- Deepak Kumar finished 12th and 18th with 626.5 and 623.8 points respectively in 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team Qualification 1 Event. They failed to qualify for Qualifications 2 Round.

Today's events began with Women's Pool A Hockey India vs. Great Britain but India lost the match 1-4.

But then came P.V. Sindhu in Women's Singles Badminton Group J Play Stage and she entered the round of 16 by winning against N. Y. Cheung of Hong Kong 21-9, 21-16.

Today's morning updates!!

Shooting: Both Manu Bhaker and Rani Sarnobat fail to qualify for next round in 25m Pistol Women's Qualification Rapid Event. They ranked 15th with a total of 582 points and 32nd with 573 points respectively.

Archery: Deepika Kumari defeated K. Perova of ROC, 6-5, in Women's Individual 1/8 Eliminations and has reached the quarter-finals. She will now face South Korea's An San in Quarter-finals at 11:30 AM today.
She has become the first Indian to advance to the last 8 stage in an individual event of Archery in Olympics!!!!

Shooting: Manu Bhaker stood No. 5 in 25m Pistol Women's Qualification Precision Stage with a score of 292. Rahi Sarbnobat's score of 287 puts her at No. 25. Rapid Stage will be held tomorrow.

Badminton: PV Sindhu defeated Denmark's Mia Bichfeldt in Singles Round of 16, 21-15, 21-13 and has entered the quarterfinals!!!! She will now play against Akane Yagamuchi of Japan in Quarter-final tomorrow.

Today's first update from Athletics,
Seems Punia finished 6th in Group A in Women's Discus Throw with the best of 60.57 m. She finished 16th overall and thus couldn't qualify for Final.

Kamalpreet Kaur finished 2nd both in her Group B in  Women's Discus Throw and overall, with 64m. She was one of the only two 2 throwers in the field across both the groups who touched the direct qualification for 64m. All her throws were above 60m, she has qualified for the finals!!!! She will now be seen in action in Finals on Aug 2.

Hockey: India wins against Ireland 1-0 in Women's Pool A!
Boxing: Simranjit Kaur lost to S. Seesondee of Thailand, 0:5 in Women's lightweight (57-60 Kg) Round of 16.
Athletics: Dutee Chand finished 7th in Women's 100m Round 1 Heat 5 with a timing of 11.54 and couldn't qualify for semi-final.
Archery: Deepika Kumari lost to South Korea's An San in Quarter-finals. 0-6.

After the good news yesterday of India's Women's Hockey Team entering the Quarter-Finals, all eyes on the Badminton Women's Singles Bronze Medal match between P.V. Sindhu  and B. J. He of China. P.V. Sindhu has already won the first set, 21-13!!!

But Today morning brings great news!!

History has been made!! India's women's hockey team has entered semi-finals, they defeated Australia 1-0. We are so proud of the ladies.

Athletics: Annu Rani finished 14th in Group A of Women's Javelin Throw with a best throw of 54.04m, she did not qualify for next round.

Wrestling: Sonam Malik lost to B. Khurelkhuu of Mongolia in Women's Freestyle 62 Kg, Round 1/8 despite the bout finishing with 2-2 points after 3 rounds due to the win being awarded on the basis of 'highest scoring point' rule.

Hockey: India's women's hockey team lost to Argentina 1-2 in the Semifinal. They will now play against Great Britain for the Bronze Medal on August 6.

Wrestling: Anshu Malik has a chance of winning a Bronze Medal in Women's Freestyle 57 Kg via Repechage as her Round 1 competitor I. Kurachkina of Belarus has reached the Finals.

Starting today with congratulating the Indian Men's Hockey Team for winning the BRONZE medal, India has won an Olympic medal in Hockey after 41 years!!! They defeated Germany 5-4. We are proud of them!!!

Athletics: Priyanka Goswami and Bhawna Jat finished 17th and 32nd with timings of 1:32:36 and 1:37:38 respectively in Women's 20 Km Race Walk Final. Priyanka put up a fantastic effort as she was leading at the halfway mark but fell behind later!

Golf: What a superb performance by Aditi Ashok, after Round 3 in Women's individual Event, she is at 2nd position and is a strong contender for an Olympic medal! Round 4 will happen tomorrow!
Diksha Dagar is tied at 51st position in same event.

Indian Women's Hockey Team lost the Bronze Medal Match to Great Britain 3-4. But what a splendid performance by the Indian team. We salute their amazing spirit and even though they did not win a medal, they have won a billion hearts!!!

Congratulations to all the amazing medal winners and each and every athlete that represented India at Tokyo Olympics 2020. We are super proud of each one of them. It has been an overwhelming journey watching each one of them give their best at the Olympics. Looking forward to see the wonders Indian Team does at Paris 2024 Olympics!

Very Proud Moment for India!
Its a GOLD Medal!!!
Neeraj Chopra wins Gold Medal in Men's Javelin Throw with the best throw of 87.58m. He creates history by winning the 1st Gold for India in Athletics and 2nd Indian to win an Individual Olympic Gold. What a magnificent performance!

Today morning began at 4 AM for a lot of us, all because we all were excited to see Aditi Ashok in action!
She finished 4th in Golf Women's Individual, but what an amazing performance by her! She gave such a tough competition and remained in top 3 during the first three rounds. 
Even though she missed on a historic medal by a whisker, she is truly an inspiration!
