This time the ‘Sharks’ investing in these businesses are Aman Gupta , Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh, Peyush Bansal, Anupam Mittal and the new shark Amit Jain (CEO and Co-founder CarDekho group). They are surely having a great time witnessing the expertise and zest of these young start ups!

While it was difficult to choose because they were all brilliant, but here’s 6 business pitches by women founders presented last month in Shark Tank India, that grabbed our attention:

1. Hoovu Fresh By Yeshoda and Rhea Karuturi

Can you build a successful business in the natural fresh flowers market? You would be thinking that’s crazy because one- they have a very low shelf life and two- they are seasonal. But these sisters have totally bust this myth. Yeshoda and Rhea Kauturi presented their out of the box idea where they have developed a mechanism to increase the shelf life of fresh flowers by upto 15 days! For all your puja needs, Hoovu Fresh has your every flower requirement sorted. What’s more? They believe in providing quality flowers and have successfully managed to reduce wastage to 2-3% which is otherwise very high in this market. The sharks recognised it and Peyush and Aman got on board with them by investing 1 crore in exchange for 2% of equity that comes to the valuation of a whopping 50 crores!

2. House of Chikankari By Poonam and Aakriti Rawal

We all are crazily in love with the ethnic Luckhnowi Chikanakari work. Be it those gorgeous kurtas or sarees, Chikankari has a special place in our hearts. But can a clothing brand work on making only Chikanakari products and nothing else? It can! Mother-daughter team is the best combo and here Poonam and Aakriti Rawal have proven it. They have not only built an extremely successful brand, House of Chikankari, but in their two years journey they provided employment to more than 5,000 women karigars. They want to preserve the authenticity of Chikanaari work but still make it relevant for modern audiences. Their sales got all sharks head reeling and they got an investment of Rs. 75 lakh from Aman and Peyush in exchange of 3.75% equity of their company.

3. NestRoots By Chhavi Singh

The industry of home decoration is vast and quite competitive but carving her own niche in this market is Chhavi Singh. She recognised the need for unique yet affordable home decor products that are not easily available as this is a fragmented industry. Thus, NestRoots took birth, her brand’s focus being Indian in origin but global in spirit. Focusing on decor, furnishing, kitchen dining etc., her house interior brand not only got our attention but also shark Namita’s who invested Rs. 50 lakh for 2% equity in Nestroots.

4. Daily Dump By Poonam Kasturi

Recycling waste properly is important and we all know it. But bringing the concept of recycling waste right at our own home, is what Poonam Kasturi has visualised. Her products are as strong as her persona. She knew the depth of the problem and her conviction reflects not only in what she has built and is building, but in her words as well. This pitch got interesting as she roasted a few sharks too with her wit and humour! But keeping everything aside, Daily Dump is a step towards sustainable living and now it has the support of shark Namita who invested 30 Lakhs for 4% of equity and also extended Rs. 40 lakhs in debt for growing the business.

5. Ekatra By Aishwarya and Minakshi Jhawar

Female empowerment gets a new boost when it’s us women who are the driving forces behind it, and the mother daughter duo’s brand is all about it. All the products in their brand are made only by females! And they want to try their best to provide employment to as many women as possible. Ekatra's lifestyle products look cool yet with a tinge of traditional art. To help them in turning their vision into reality, Peyush and new shark Amit joined them by investing 20 lakhs for 20% equity and also gave 20 lakhs in debt.

6. Dabble By Neha Bajaj and Karen

Art products that are safe for kids? All moms agree we need it! Children love art but yet it’s literally impossible to keep them away from getting messy or worse putting those paints and crayons in their mouth! Only moms can understand the pain and that’s why two moms got together to solve this issue and Dabble was born. Neha and Karen, recognised that such products were not available easily in India and they decided to make safe art products with all ingredients listed so that parents are left tension free. This was indeed a bold move to ensure transparency as it could increase their competition which sharks pointed out too. But being moms they understood it’s necessary for parents to know what they are getting for their child. To make their business more successful they now have shark Aman with them who invested Rs. 15 lakhs for 10 % equity and for growing the business he also extended Rs, 35 lakhs as debt.

With many weeks still left, we are sure that this month too we will get to see some amazing women entrepreneurs and get inspired! Which business idea inspired you the most? Do tell us in the comments section below.
